Technical Writing- Solving a Technology Problem
Instruction:
 | Steps involved in technical writing: writing directions |
 | Students create a rubric for other's technical writing |
 | Reading how-to manuals and websites, grade them with the rubric and
discuss |

 | Language Arts - Technical Writing |
 | Technology - Gather & Publish information, Solve Technology Problems |
Project:
 | As a class, we will brainstorm a list of things that regularly go wrong
when using technology in the classroom. |
 | You will work in groups of 2 to pick an issue and write a set of
directions on how to fix or troubleshoot the problem you pick. |
 | When your draft is done, trade with another group. Have that group
try out the directions and offer feedback. |
 | As part of your draft, pick at least 3 terms that a reader may not know.
Give definitions. Add graphics if they belong. |
 | When your final draft is approved by the teacher, use software to design a
brochure to help others solve their problems. |
 | On one page of the brochure, include your vocabulary list. |
